For interesting and complicated reasons, i decided not to put my had into the Fairfield City Council election November 8, 2011. I almost beat Frank Kardos and Matt Garcia.
As for right now, I am predicting two of the following three may win the election:
Pam Bertani: Attorney. Don't know her well enough yet. Very ambitious. Will probably rock the boat at Fairfield City Council.
Chuck Timm: Incumbant. Former police officer. Handle Fairfield PD's PR. Can be a nice guy.
Rick Vaccaro: Was appointed the seat though laws in other jurisdictions would have required I take the seat as I had the next most voters. He's a Solano County, California juvenile hall director. Rick however can be a nice guy.
How well do you try to know the candidates you vote for? Don't vote if you're just picking a name that sounds familiar. You owe it to the community and yourself to make good voting decisions. Check independent news and blogs on the web and of course the local newspapers. Did you know very few voters ever call the candidates though their phone numbers are usually posted on the mailers?
